Dennings had a romance with Nick Zano - her "2 Broke Girls", co star, lasted from 2011 through 2014. After breaking up her relationship, she began to date singer Josh Groban. Both remained in a relationship up to 2016. Dennings first met Andrew W.K., a musician, in the beginning of 2021. In May 2021, they confirmed that their friendship had begun. Dennings had been a big admirer of the artist since 2014. Dennings is Jewish and was born into a Jewish family. Dennings says that although she has been raised Jewish however, religion did not influence her in her daily life. Her hobbies include reading, gardening and painting. In her early years the initial plan she had to go to art school was foiled by a flooding that destroyed all of her art work. It was the flood that prompted her to start acting. Transcendental Meditation is something she practices regularly. Also, she is an animal activist, and she has a cat as a pet.
