Carey, a former high fashion model, who measures at nearly 5'10" was well-liked by American designers like Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren. She is the daughter of a distinguished geologist, who in 1979 was named Scientist of the Year in 1979 by the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists. In the course of his work, Carey has been raised across the world. As she attended in the University of Colorado at part-time, she caught the interest of the Ford model Agency representative in New York. In the year 1980, she emigrated to France for a brief period of time, and lived in Paris and Bordeaux but returned in New York in order to continue an acting career. The model was featured on Vogue and Glamour cover. She attended full-time classes at New York University, obtaining her degree in literature while working on modeling assignments. She became more interested in acting and started training at the Neighborhood Playhouse of New York. In 1986, she got her first performance, a bit part in Club Paradise, with Robin Williams. Her hobbies include skiing, white-water rafting, wind-surfing and climbing rocks.
